SB NETBALL ACADEMY - 2025 Term One

The Academy program is available to 13-16 year olds who have currently represented at State Age level for their Association.

Our program is designed to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of all players, encouraging them to aspire to reach their full potential. 

The focus will be on correcting and refining netball specific skills, positional requirements and understanding strategic, technical and tactical aspects of the game.

By providing individually tailored training we are confident players will improve, develop and be closer to reaching their full potential. 

Trainings will be held during the school term each week for 6 weeks. Sessions will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4.00-5.30pm. 

Term 1 - starts 23 February - 30 March (Sunday) 

Time - 4.00-5.30pm

Venue - Firth Park, Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast

Uniform

Players will be given an Academy singlet and can purchase a pair of our best selling elite performance shorts for $30 which retail for $45.00 (shorts are not compulsory) Please wear singlet to all sessions.

Eligibility

To be eligible for an SB Academy Netball Program, athletes must be:

• Players born in or after 2008 -2011 (Turning 13-16 in 2024.)
• Selected in a team to represent their Association in the 2024 State Age competition.
• Be a current financial member of a local Netball Association located within the Queensland Gold Coast region
• Aspire to achieve elite representation in Netball.

Development Pathway

SBNETBALL provides a development pathway for players eager to increase and perfect their skill level and knowledge in the game.

Junior Academy - Phase 1. Learning and perfecting basic skills - pass, catch, footwork, landing, running, attack, defence, shooting, strategy.

Intermediate Academy - Phase 2. A higher level of skill and intensity required.

Advanced Academy - Phase 3.  Excellent range of skills performed with intensity and practiced in match play.

Athlete Commitment

There is an expectation of players to be engaging in the program, give their best efforts and be willing to learn for their own growth and development. 

It is encouraged that athletes attend all sessions to gain full benefit.
