SB Netball Performance Wear – Designed by Netballers, for Netballers

The concept for SB Netball Performance Wear began around the family table, when founder Sheryl Burns and her three daughters — all passionate netballers — discussed the challenge of finding the perfect pair of training shorts. They wanted shorts that were comfortable, stayed in place during play, and came in vibrant colours.

As committed athletes representing both Queensland and National level teams, they were searching for apparel that could deliver performance, style, and durability. Bright designs, modern cuts, and fabrics tough enough to withstand the demands of high-level competition became non-negotiables.

Sheryl’s passion for fabrics started early. “My mum was a dressmaker, and she taught me the importance of quality materials,” she says. After leaving school, Sheryl purchased her first sewing machine, developing a deep understanding of fabrics and their ability to endure sweat, movement, and countless washes while maintaining their look and feel.

What began as family brainstorming sessions soon evolved into a design process — researching fabrics, testing patterns, and refining cuts. The daughters played an active role, choosing colours, shaping styles, and putting every garment through the toughest trials both on the court and in the gym.

From these beginnings, SB Netball Performance Wear has grown into a thriving online business alongside the coaching arm of SB Netball. Every product is player-tested across all ages, sizes, and levels, ensuring comfort, style, and performance.

The brand’s reputation now extends to the elite level, with SB apparel worn by Suncorp Super Netball athletes and National Representatives including Romelda Aiken-George, Shamera Sterling, and Hulita Veve.

From a simple idea to a recognised name in the sport, SB Netball Performance Wear remains true to its origins — family-driven innovation, tested by netballers, trusted for quality. Every piece is made with the same passion and love for the game that inspired the very first design.
